Its amazing how plants don’t need humans to survive but humans cannot live without plants. Its something to consider, at least. Belize has been blessed with 8,867 square miles of paradise with a population of approximately 365,000 people. There is land in abundance which means that nature is always moving on its cycles. We are blessed in this part of the world
This ist rises in the tropical mountain side in Western Belize
Flora and fauna galore mixed with roaring rivers and some that just roll unto the sea as if taking their time. Over 150 species of animals and and over 500 species of birds can be found throughout the length and breadth of the country. People are amazed at the wonders which surprise even the locals when the take treks to the unknown parts to make surer they tick off their bucket list numbers.
The Green Iguana. A creature almost as old as the sun (Found in abundance in Belize)
It is often one would meet a couple or group of people early in the morning on damp, fresh trails in savannas, in swamp lands, in the deepest tropical forests. Once you meet them they would have a few things in common: hiking shoes, caps, bandanas, water bottles, a snack, binoculars and cameras. The birders and the wildlife lovers we have conceded are the most patient of all visitors. We also know this: when they get what they call a “lifer” whether bird or animal, nothing beats their celebration and joy high. We love it when that happens!
The Blue Crowned Mot Mot. A very special specie for birdwatchers (and everyone else!)
One very important element of natural Belize is that while some people go into nature for one or two particular things, it is absolutely impossible not to be treated to a few other options. Sometimes bird watchers end up in and around beautiful ancient Maya cities and then there are times when folks interested in archaeology end up coming out of the forest with a list of wildlife they see and a few birds.
Our nature tours are special and we cannot wait for you to come and join us on a few.
